About Me
I’m a lifelong comic fan. My gateway into the medium were the animated series of the ‘90s like Batman, Superman, and X-Men, as well as the Marvel Trading Cards of the same period. I fell out of comics for a bit in high school, but came back in with a bang in college and it’s been a never-ending trip since.
I started writing comic reviews on my own blog and then Horror DNA and Comicon. This expanded to news, interviews, and Funny Book Splatter, a regular horror comics podcast. In 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, I put down my press hat and started writing my own comics. This was something I had always wanted to do, but was terrified of failure. It turns out, spending over a decade in comics press was like an intense school of how to make comics.
I live in the suburbs of New York with my wife, Monica, and my two sons named after comic book characters, Oliver and Parker. My kids and I have a YouTube channel called Ferg & Sons Reviews where we review kids comics together. I also collect enamel pins and feature them regularly on my Instagram page.
